Eye on Student Protagonism: WHEA: Valuing Authenticy & Student Direction

Join us for an exciting Eye on Student Protagonism event featuring West Hawaii Explorations Academy (WHEA), a trailblazing public charter school in Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i. Known for its hands-on, project-based approach, WHEA empowers students to take charge of their learning through real-world, interdisciplinary projects that foster critical thinking, technical skills, and environmental stewardship.

In this session, WHEA students will take center stage to share their projects, experiences, and learning journeys. From scientific research to engineering challenges and sustainability initiatives, their work showcases the power of student-driven education. Come hear directly from the students as they reflect on their challenges, discoveries, and the impact of their projects on their community and beyond.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see authentic student agency in action and gain insights into how experiential learning can transform education.

The Eye on Student Protagonism virtual events are dynamic professional learning experiences where students take center stage, sharing their projects, research, and initiatives. Each one-hour session features student-led presentations, interactive discussions, and opportunities for attendees to ask questions and provide feedback.
