"Creating Counterparts" The Motley Crew Discussion Group (Special Edition)

CREATING COUNTERPARTS - A Film Discussion

The Motley Crew Discussion Group brings together diverse thinkers for lively, thought-provoking conversations on education, innovation, and the future of learning. Rooted in curiosity and open dialogue, these gatherings challenge assumptions, spark new ideas, and foster meaningful connections among educators, life-long learners, and changemakers passionate about reimagining what school could be. The Motley Crew Discussion Group flips the traditional discussion model—participants read, watch, or listen to thought-provoking content before gathering.

During the course of the 1999-2000 school year, two groups of high school students, one from Holcomb, Missouri population 531 and the other from New York City population 10,000,000, worked together to create a mural about their perceptions of one another and the communities they lived in.

Read more about the project and watch the film at this link BEFORE February 26th. The two creators of this project, Dave Loewenstein and Sandra Stein, and two of the students who participated in this mural project from 24 years ago, will join us!
